The madrassa

Islamic education is at the heart of Jamiaturraza Istanbul. Our madrassa serves the children of our community, so that they grow up with the Qur’an and with sound knowledge of their faith: what a Muslim believes, how to worship, and the character the Prophet ﷺ taught. Close to fifty young students study here every day.

Our approach

The madrassa follows the teaching of our markaz, Jamiatur Raza, Bareilly Shareef, and of the scholars of Ahl al-Sunna wa’l-Jama’a: Hanafi in fiqh, Maturidi in creed, in the tradition of Imam Ahmad Raza Khan رحمه الله.

In this tradition, learning begins with the Qur’an and grows, step by step, into the Islamic sciences: belief (ʿaqīdah), law and worship (fiqh), the life of the Prophet ﷺ (sīrah) and good conduct (adab). Knowledge is taken from qualified teachers, and it is meant to be lived as well as learnt.
